Novel Vaccine Technology

ADVANTAGES OF IMMUNE COMPLEX VACCINE (ICV) TECHNOLOGY

The novel Immune Complex Vaccine technology is based on the binding of limited amount of specific neutralizing antibodies to the target antigen (virus or bacteria) prior to administration. The novel vaccine is then administered as an antigen-antibody entity, rather than antigen alone. Proper antigen presentation and processing is the key to successful vaccination and herd protection. It is expected that antigens presented in the context of antibody will engage all immunocytes with Fc binding capabilities (for example, APC, DC, B, NK, cells involved in ADCC, granulocytes…etc) relative to conventional antigen presentation. The outcome of such involvement is expected to be superior to the outcome after conventional presentation of vaccine antigens. Our technology has demonstrated the ability to:

  • Improve immune responses to a vaccine antigen
    • Enhanced safety, thus earlier administration when needed
    • Early and robust immune response
    • Enhanced cross-strain protection
  • Provide protection with a single-dose vaccine, replacing multi dose vaccination programs and
  • Reduce or eliminate the use of adjuvants.

The Company’s strategy is to partner with human health and animal health companies to develop vaccines that are safer, more effective and easier to use. With the successful execution of this strategy, ImmunoBiosciences will earn revenue from sponsored research payments, license fees and ongoing royalties.

ImmunoBiosciences currently has three research license agreements in place with major animal health companies and is working with six recognized academic research institutions to demonstrate the performance of ICV technology in selected, high value human vaccine applications. These include Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) for vaccination of newborns and the elderly as well as Seasonal/pandemic influenza.
